Day 3 of National Juvenile T& F

Congratulations to Gearoid Tuohy and Briain Cullinan who both won national medals on Day 3 of the National Juvenile Track & Field Championships in Tullamore on Sunday 23rd July.

Gearoid ran a fantastic tactical race and held off a strong challenge on the home straight to secure a gold medal in the u15 boys 1500m – adding another national medal to his collection.

Another very accomplished young athlete Briain Cullinan, who won gold in the 100m sprint hurdles on Day 1 of the Championships, secured a bronze medal in the 250m hurdles.

Congratulations also to Ruairi McLouglin who performed exceptionally well in the u15 boys’ 259m hurdles narrowly missing out on the medals to place 4th; Sean McCabe who finished 5th in the u18 boys’ 100m sprint; Finn Campbell who finished 6th in the u18 boys’ 400m final; Nicole Flanagan who was 6th in the U14 girls long jump and Josh Cadman who competed for the 1st time at the National Championships and placed strongly.

Congratulations to all other athletes from Sligo who competed at this event and thanks, as ever, to all coaches, officials and volunteers.
